Korean actor Kim Myung Min has finally signed the deal to star in upcoming SBS television series, “The King of Drama” (드라마의 제왕), says his management agency, MM Entertainment. The drama series will serve as Kim Myung Min’s comeback project to the small screen after 4 years.
“The King of Drama” is set against a backdrop of a broadcasting company where Kim Myung Min plays the role of Anthony Kim, a genius CEO who is known to possess the “Midas touch” as everything that he undertakes succeeds. For him, fame and fortune are of the utmost importance. Other cast members that have yet to be named are the arrogant and difficult top actor and the warm-hearted rookie writer.
Helmed by director Hong Sung Chang (“You’re Beautiful”) and written by Jang Hang Joon (“Sign”), “The King of Drama” will premiere in SBS in 5 November, taking over the Monday-Tuesday 9:55 p.m. timeslot previously occupied by Lee Min Ho’s “Faith”. Filming is expected to commence in September.
Meanwhile, Kim Myung Min is currently enjoying the success of his latest movie, “Deranged” that has broken 2012 Korean box office records and is scheduled for US and Canada release on 27 July.
