Kim Myung Min’s love interest in his upcoming drama project is … Jung Ryu Won!
MM Entertainment, Kim Myung Min’s agency confirmed that the 31-year-old has been cast as the lead actress in upcoming SBS television series, The King of Dramas. Jung is a well-established actress best known for her role in the television drama My Lovely Sam Soon (MBC, 2005). Some of her recent works include History of a Salaryman (SBS, 2012), Never Ending Story (Movie, 2012) and Pain (Movie, 2011).
In an interview with Kim Myung Min International earlier this month, Kim Myung Min himself revealed the profile of the love interest of his character (Anthony Kim) in the series: The lady is called Lee Go Eun, a rookie scriptwriter who works as a part-time assistant writer to a very well-known writer, Mr. Jung. Ms. Lee is a poor and innocent young lady who aspires to become a famous writer like her boss. To support herself, she also works part-time at her mom’s mackerel shop at the open market. However, despite the hardships (and constant bickering and fights with Mr. Kim), Ms. Lee patiently perseveres to reach her goal.
While The King of Dramas basically focusses on the life and career of Anthony Kim, a genius CEO of a drama production company, the series will also highlight the corruption that takes place at a drama production company and broadcasting station.
The King of Dramas is Kim Myung Min’s comeback project to the small screen after 4 years. It is directed by Hong Sung Chang (You’re Beautiful (SBS, 2009), Smile Mom (SBS, 2010)) and penned by Jang Hang Jun (Sign (SBS, 2011). Filming is targeted to start on 31 August, and release is scheduled in SBS on 5 November taking over the Monday-Tuesday 9:55 pm slot that will be vacated by Faith.
